Design Brief

This color study project builds upon the design fundamentals we explored earlier, focusing on key graphic design elements such as point, line, plane, texture, and letterform. With an emphasis on basic color theory, this project allowed us to explore how color influences these elements and enhances various aspects of design. By applying color wheel relationships—including tints and shades, warm vs. cool colors, and complementary and analogous color schemes—I was able to create depth, hierarchy, and scale in my previous design fundamentals sketches. Through this process, we also learned the importance of developing a well-curated color palette, selecting a combination that stood out the most and applying it thoughtfully across our sketches to create a unified and impactful design. In the end, we brought our designs to life by applying them to real-world scenarios, creating mock-ups for murals, can designs, and other relevant applications.
