Design Brief: Design Fundamentals Study

Through this project, I developed my perception and communication skills in graphic design by delving into its fundamental elements: point, line, plane, shape, and texture. These building blocks provided a deeper understanding of how they form the foundation for creating effective layouts. By exploring concepts like white space, scale, and composition, I discovered their essential role in successful design. A key aspect of the project was a 9-unit photo study, where I searched for real-world examples of these elements, allowing me to experiment with and apply them in authentic contexts.

This hands-on exploration helped me create visually compelling designs. Ultimately, I learned the importance of balance, hierarchy, and spatial awareness in design communication. The final piece, combining type and image, showcases all these principles, blending personal photography, dynamic typography, and thoughtful composition. This project enabled me to embrace the interplay between form and contrast, resulting in a design that is not only visually striking but also conceptually resonant.
